Welcome to the Richmond County Literacy Council. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving literacy throughout Richmond County, NC. We help adults with Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes, especially those testing as beginning readers. We are able to tutor students either one-on-one or in small groups. With the guidance of our staff, tutors and other volunteers, we are able to develop literacy skills within the students we serve. Recently, we began a collaboration with Richmond Community College to focus our efforts away from GED readiness students and back to our roots of helping beginning readers.

We also work with the Richmond County Job Link to assist our students with much needed job placement and readiness skills.

Feel free to browse our site for information on the Literacy Council, our programs and what you can do to get involved.
